head stock/yolk question where dose the plastic washer go???

im building a bike from the ground up/in parts and have the yolks ready 2 go on but where dose the little plastic/rubber washer go??? dose it go above the 2 castle nuts or in between them or wot etc...?

bike is a 3TJ model.

Betwixt the two funny nuts. Make sure you torque those with the suspension loaded. If the wheels aren't on the ground, it won't be right.

you might want to check a tech manual or ask a shop... those can be tricky if you don't torque them down correctly.

With my MX bike you torque it to 37 foot pounds then loosen it again and re-torque it to something small like 5 foot pounds. It may not be the same case for your bike, but it could be similar. If it's too tight you could destroy the bearings after a few rides.

I think i'm in the right location anyway.

I didn't torque mine correctly and now I've got a bit of play in it. I get buzzing in the handles and and a lot of clunking around when going over really rough pavement. It doesn't cause any major problems but I do need to correct it. I probably won't get to it till the winter though.
