It has a cranked shape so that the inspection cover may be replaced.

Either lock wire the pin in or use a std small R clip as fitted to the later calipers without the inspection cover fitted.

Order two from any Yamaha dealer ...the postage will be greater than the items.

Replace the temporary securing item when they arrive.

The cover is fine, just the cotter pin the goes through the bolt the holds the pads in place broke and Yamaha may sell them just they are really expensive like $15

Read my reply again....

I did not state to replace the cover.

I stated the reason for the crank in the R clip is so the cover can fit or be replaced after inspection or refitted ....whatever....

Oh and the part number you quote is for the pin....not the R clip retainer.

I saw that after I got the part no. From St. Once rec. Which I guess they didn't understand me. And your reply was a bit confusing but I get it now.

So you think I can either get a different stud or pin from a dealer?

Your pic shows the cranked "R" clip.

This is the part no.
3HE-25925-00

The part no. you quoted is for the pad retaining pin... the part that the R clip retains !

Which do you require.?

Both are service parts...cheap and readily available to order from any Yamaha dealer....a good one may have them in stock otherwise at most a 10 day back order.

Our bikes are old...they are not obsolete with no parts backup.!

I need the r-clip and I'll check with my local dealer.

I looked up that part number you said which brought me too the part I needed. I just ordered one from PartZilla for about $10 so I'll see how it is

Quoted from one of your above posts.

"Which I guess they didn't understand me."

Lol...

Here is a link to an online parts fiche;

http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-fzr400-exup_model16741/

You may find it useful....select your model and double check on the fiche page that the line drawing corresponds to your model. This is relevant as models do have variations....you may not pick the exact model and hence the page and the corresponding part at the first attempt.

Once the part is located ...click the UNDERLINED name of the part...this will give a part number.
If the part name is not underlined it shows the part is NLA from CMSL at that time.

CMSL omits certain data from the part no. unfortunately and a copy/ paste of their part number yields poor results.
This is important when you attempt to google the part if you omit that data.

Example;
Your R pin is listed as :
3HE2592500

It needs two dashes added thus; 3HE-25925-00 to get the accurate Yamaha number.

After that the choice of supplier is easy.

Attempting to describe and order a part for a motorcycle that is probably older than the parts assistant themselves
without an actual part number is a disaster waiting to happen, as you very nearly discovered.

You have not been charged for this public information essay :whistle

Apology and lack of thanks until the very last post accepted !

Most of the long term contributors and members on here are used to it.

This may be one reason why many of the members who have much knowledge on here and still watch the forum rarely answer a query nowadays.

Good luck with your parts fitment when they arrive.

I found this pin and the picture shows the right one, i found it on motorsport.com which is also where im getting a rear seat cover (has to painted to white).

Just thought i would clear this up for everyone
