So I was changing my batt and I hooked It up backwards. The post where backwards from my new one. I cant beleve I didnt check. I just got out of work and was in a hurry. I got plenty of time now.It was only for a second. It sparked once . Now with the bat hooked up right It does nothing. I turn it on and nothing no lights nothing. I checked the four fuses and they look good. Any ideas guys ? Is there another fuse somewhere or something. I dont have ther manual so I am lost. Hope you guys can point me in the right direction. Itys a 1990 fzr 400

Don't panic.... many others have done similar.
Manufacturers take it into account.

There is a 30 amp main fuse.

Thanks I found it . It was that fuse. All is well in fzr land. Started up and running fine. I was in a panic. Thanks again.

Reverse polarity can damage diodes E.T.C. thankfully your bike now runs, however I'd advise you to check your charging rate just to be on the safe side. All VRR's have diodes if they get damaged well.....

A safe charging rate is 13.6 - 14.4 volts DC @ 3K RPM.

The Cali 600 boxes are particularly vulnerable to this; I've seen 2 TCIs now where multiple components and even board traces were utterly fried by the briefest of reverse connections.

Be careful out there ...
