Hey guy, I have been looking for some usd forks for my fzr hybrid for a bit. Really been wanting to go with 08+ R6 forks an 05 triple, but as you know they are expensive. At the moment I have a really good deal on a complete front end on a 01-03 gsxr750. Would that be a good option for the fzr? I still want to retain the original fork pitch as close as possible, please help. These forks will go fast.... thanx D

Obviously you can't just fit upside down forks in the original clamps, so you either need to use the ones for the forks or have new ones made up. New clamps will blow your budget.
If you use other bike clamps you have know the offset from the headstock pivot and if the forks are raked in the clamps.
Finally you need check the overall height of the forks so they physically fit.

After that you have to set them up for the bike

I had done enough research that the 05 and 08+ r6 forks are a decent length and that the 05 r6 clamps combined with the fzr400 stem is a good match to go with, considering fork pitch. I was just wondering if anyone on here knows about the gsxr 01-03 models and if you could achieve the same results or near to the R6 stated above. i am running the 600r engine and have no fzr forks or clamps, so i have to go with something, other than the r6 setup what would be another usd option that anyone knows of that is a good setup? More cost effective that is and in the us? There are so many conflicting results when searching on the web. I need to know clamp options and fork options if anyone knows? Thanks again, D

I put a 1999 R1 (4XV) front end on mine. Took a bit of magic to get the FZR400 stem into the R1 bottom yoke. The bottom yoke didn't need modding at all (the stops line up fine). The top yoke needed a bush welding in to math the FZR400 stem. The only issue I have is no cable speedo at the moment.

Yeah Remember I got caught in the hire van after I'd picked up the remains of that TJ. I was lucky I got a speed awareness course. I stopped the teachers train of thought when he asked how fast I though I was going by replying I was so wasted I couldn't see the speedo let alone read it

Buy a digital speedo i had one on my xr worked fine infact was more accurate took ten mins to fit and only cost 20 quid

Update just went ahead an got 08 r6 forks and got speedwerks to buld be a set of billet triples setup for the r6 forks. so its fzr offset with 50mm frok insert holes and r6 triple spread. looks fantastic and will work just great. BTW that bike in the pics looks fantastic. i will one day have an original 3tj. best bike ever in my opinion.

I ran it with a Cateye speedo for a little while but its just too small. Because I ride a few other bikes it's just second nature to flick a look at the normal speedo to double check. I am going to find a way to get the std speedo up and working. I just need to call in a favour with an engineering friend

The way the weather is here at the moment - virtually nothing is getting done on the bikes.......

I here you ive been looking for what i thought was an oil leak i cleaned all the gasket seal points started her up and watched nothing leaking so ive put it to my drain tap on the carbs are leaking and i think its fuel running through the dirt on the side of the engine then the rain cam
