One thing ... the idle jets are easy to mix up with the main jets, they look similar and will fit in the right holes, so make sure that's OK.
Other than that adjust the idle screws.
The tank thing can be down to it limiting the air into the air box. Its less likely but you can fold up the fuel hose.

Hi everyone,

I think I'm getting somewhere, today I gave the engine a flush and replaced the oil, and whilst the oil was dropping I checked over the carbs and found that the seals on the 2 of the needle jet assembly's were shot, I replaced and put new oil in and she goes a lot better, but whilst at idol if I rev her right up she will settle and keep idoling but if I hold her a mid revs for a bit then let her drop she will die, any thoughts.

The idle / pilot jets are distinctive and not interchangeable. What WILL swap is the main and starter (enrichener) jets. This allows the bike to start and idle well, but won't rev out under power since the main circuit is only flowing about half the fuel it should. This might cause problems starting with the 'choke' on,since you now have about TWICE the fuel wanted.

Haha think I'm going to agree, close enough for now, starts o.k, runs ok, revs o.k, still smoking, but that just maybe because it bloody freezing at the moment, keeping a eye on the coolant level, so I'm going to concentrate on finishing her now and get her on the road, will get pictures up soon.
