Old post I know;
Do you guys not have "Renthal" over there.? Much better quality than JT.The fronts are much lightened with drillings and extremely durable and the rears are hard anodised alloy and very light weight.
As for B and C express!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.I waited for 10 minutes on the phone today for the receptionist to finish gossiping to her pal only to be told to phone back, and what sort of sprocket supplier doesnt stock chain?? UK readers try A and R Racing.
Once you get above 70bhp you would be better off with 520.I would say there are more racing 400s in USA than UK.Keep away from 19-55 combinations in 428,15-47/16-47 combinations in 520 will be all over you.
Sent from my keyboard using the English language not some teen text shite from a fooking phone.

Remember if you use a renthal front sprocket that you may need to use TWO washers - one either side of the sprocket. This is because the centre boss on the 'quality' renthal sprocket is thinner :duh: . Sprocket washer for the 3TJ is part number 90215-21290.

If you absolutely have to use a 428 chain then I can heartily recommend the DID VM series chain. Much more heavy duty than a std type 428 (had to stick to 428 on my 3LN FZR250R).

I have a North American, 1990 400... On the JT website they list what they have available in 520 conversions as follows:

FZR400 Genesis <<<< 520 Chain Conversion 1WG 88 (JAPAN)

FZR400 RR EXUP >>>> 520 Chain Conversion 4DX1/2 90-95 (no mention of country)

FZR400 SP EXUP <<<< 520 Chain Conversion 1WG (JAPAN)

Can someone confirm for me the one that will correctly fit my bike?... It's the 4DX1/2?

The 4DX1/2 bike is a UK version of the 3TJ. It does not have the 112mph speedo restrictor gubbins.

Is that deffo the bike you have??? If so then this is what you need:

Apparently there are only 3 known 3TJ bikes in North america so I would think you have the 1WG bike...

The first three digits of your frame number will give the game away.

Thanks Chris/ I appreciate the response.

I definitely have a 1WG (1990/ California model/ EXUP), I just wasn't sure why JT's website had no mention of country for the 4DX1/2 90-95 (or, if that mattered to 1WG bike owners) and, what was the significance of the others having a Japanese flag next to them (and, if that mattered to 1WG owners).

The second link you listed directed me to the Japanese option without a year code (the first had an "88"). This was intentional on your part/ there's a difference?

I don't know why they dont list a year on it. You will notice though that 'for the 520 conversion', JT are listing the same sprockets for the 1WG and 3TJ bikes except the rear has less teeth on the 1WG.

The reason for that particular link is that JT have it listed as a 1WG specific conversion to 520 - what you originally asked for. If you ordered the JT sprockets they list and the 520 chain and it didn't work out - well then maybe you would be able to get your $$££ back.

If you stick with 428 then hunt out a DID VM series. I was very impressed by it.
