fork seals 3en2

Post by terrors »

i purchased new fork seals for my 1992 fzr400 3en2 with the dimensions below but they seem really difficult to get in and they are a wee bit bigger(2mm approx) than the old seal.

43mm x 55mm x 10.5mm

does any one know if the dimensions are correct for my year and model

thanks in advance

i think the 3tj rr ones are 43 mm x 10.5, the 3en2 are 41mm i/d I believe. double check by measuring the diameter of your fork top!
Fzr400 3tj x2
fzr400 3en1 (17in conversion) now gone its way in parts!

Jamie,
seeing as how you have an FC badge for an avatar and you have a 3en2 bike you are a fellow Brit would be a good idea if you put your location in your personal profile.

The Americans never had that model so you will have to rely on the British Chapter help you out .

.

That is correct. The 3en2 also uses the same seals as the UK 93-96 fzr600, which is know as the yzf600 in the US.
fzr660/400: fzr400 3en1 frame, 3en2 swinger, custom single seat subframe, fzr660 motor conversion, APE adjustable cam gears, full D&D 4-2-1 exhaust, falicon clutch basket, ignitech ignition, R6 front end with tz250 wheel, ohlins shock, storz steering damper, tzr250 rear wheel.

weighs 166kg wet (25kg lighter than my stock fzr600).

Really make a difference to know the standards used. A little difference and it won't fit.
