Post by bigrich »

Anyone know where the fuel filter is on the 1989 fzr400rr grey import I can't find it. Also would it be ok using the 600 filter or the 1000 filter ?

I don't know how different the 600-1k is but I just use one that I got at the local supply house. Autozone here in the states. As long as the inlet and outlet are both the same size as the fuel hose. 1/4 on the 600.

Chris.

Otherwise bikebandit.com has parts for about 12 dollars. I selected an 89 400w on this page but I think the 400's were a year behind for the uk so you might want to check that.

EDIT Ok I just checked around and the oem part listed for the 600 400 and 1k filter was 1152009 even though the picture shows different. So universal will work.

I bought a 400 fuel pump last year, the only difference to the 600 pump was the inlet and outlet tubes. The 400 tubes were 6mm, the 600 tubes are 8mm.

The 600 fuel filter is @ the bottom of the tank, the 400 could be there also.

yeah the filter will be inline with the pump, which is right under where you sit. if you dont know what it looks like turn the key on and you should here some noise, thats the pump. like malwer said its right there undet the tank area

just for other peoples reference, the fuel filter and pump are bolted underneath the tank and are inline .....
fuel tank ---> fuel filter ---> fuel pump.

its easy to change just make sure u have someone to hold the tank, and i ordered a fzr1000 fuel filter for my 400rr and it looks exactly the same

cheers lads
