FZR400 Gas Cap

Post by JohnE »

Are there gas caps available to fit FZR400 that don't have keys in them, to replace the stock keyed units? My bike just has a toggle switch for the ignition switch and I'd sure like to throw the keys away totally!

+5 BUT be sure you state it is for the 400 as the 600 does NOT fit

Not sure I understand - I'm looking for a gas cap that is a style that does not have a key and I think that all FZR400 gas caps were keyed?

j,
the aftermarket versions are not keyed and they have there own twist lock style funnel bit that bolts to the fuel cell & the tank shroud.
The problem is most people do not know that the gap between the fuel cell & the tank shroud is different between 400 & 600 models so they can be fooled by non-technical sales people in to buying junk.

Hence my warning ...............

EDIT: I didn't see any on their application chart. You might want to call them.

FB,
Pops was my nickname in the army I was the eldest in my mob at 22 the rest were under 20 and I had nearly 9 months "in country" on all but 1 and he had only 6 months "in country".
Of that whole lot only 14 of us have made it back to the world, under my command I lost only two, one on a bouncing betsy & the other in a Brothel when a female agent took him out. When I was on R & R I lost 23 comrades at "hamburger hill". the rest were lost in other theatres.

Like I said every one has talent it is just a case of knowing what yours is, and feeding it with as much knowledge as you can cram in.

My nephew(15) flew in from the West Indies this morning and brought with him some Wide band & narrow band Oxygen sensors for a project I have been thinking long and hard about. He asked me why I was in need of them so I told him in very brief/ broad terms about it.
The kid then gives me a very technical monologue of the benefits of each type and what each is best at what aspect of control systems. Well I think he probably saved me 3 months of head scratching. Amazing
