I'm told the first gen R6 front end is a direct swap in.
Does anyone know if the 1999 YZF front end is a simple bolt in as well?
I'm not sure why I'm getting the bike if I'm changing everything. LOL

Re: Front end swap
The first gen R6 is NOT a direct swap. The 1999 YZF 600 is a direct swap. You will need everything for the front end though.

Re: Front end swap
Direct bolt on to what? Conventional R6 forks will fit the FZR400RR (3TJ) triple clamps, so it could be done without to much trouble to that bike. If you are talking about any other FZR400 (1WJ) (3EN) then you will need to swap the triple clamp. It so happens that a 3TJ triple clamp will bolt on to the other FZR400/600, so that is an option. I happen to have R6 forks in 3TJ triples that I am not using if you decide to go that way.
FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.
FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.

Re: Front end swap
I paid 30$ to have my stem pressed in. I figured you spend more than that in time gathering materials and stuff but Y-Geo is right he showed us all an alternative way that is proven.yamaha_george wrote:or see the thread on universal stems and save a lot of money !!!Huckleberry wrote:yup R6 is not but is very easy if ur using 99-02 forks and triples, just get fzr stem pressed in to r6 triples and 1 bushing for top and bolt and go
