Replacing Cooling System Hoses

Post by Kettle One »

Interested to hear about solutions/ideas for replacing the (now unobtainium) rubber coolant hoses on the FZR400. My searches have not revealed any kits available.

There are those eBay kits always online but I've never heard anything about them and reviews lol
You can also just buy general coolant hoses and fit them they won't be bent at all in the positions but over time will wear into the shape they are now. I'd also recommend new better clamps like they give you with new exhaust systems as they clamp much harder and old hoses have shrunk from being clamped and you'll want these really tight.
Thanks,

Thanks Snydes. I will look into that option. I also since found out that a mate of mine used silicone hose lengths & various elbow shapes from Pegasus Racing to make up a set for a custom project.

I will check in the garage tomorrow to see if I still have my originals which are better than most. I replaced ALL rubber on my bike 10 years ago.

Are they the same or similar to 600 hoses? New silicone hoses form ASH are available for the 600 in the UK for about £60 a set.

If these are what you are referring to they look a little different:
