Yes it's a patience game finding the right stuff and at the right price. There's stuff out there, just takes time to source it.

1989 fzr400 ..well carb 3 is not working right im done with them sit for over 15 yrs...gummy yummy..got fzr brandons race carbs coming..not gonna split up the bank to diagnose them..spare parts now..story is on the bike the guy bought it 21 yrs ago with 18k on it run it for 2-3 yrs clocked it up to 20k mi and parked it and never rode it again..something went goofy wrong to stop riding it..figure something in the carb goofed up..the side stand switch was not working ,stop running when put in gear got that cleaned up and working ..I DO NEED A RED WHITE COWLING ,,fall over damage,,probly cost more to get repainted than replaced..everything else is pretty nice except for the melted lowers from the exh..so if brandons carbs work ok ill probly get his exh system or a slipon..exh is gutted now with a supertrapp end baffle on it so its toast anyway..and looks like crap..runs perfect with my 600 carbs on it..go figure..patience grasshopper wax on wax off..gregginohio

thanks to fzrbrandon it lives
bought his carbs he had for sale..slapped em on .and rev rev..now the idle mixture is a little off ..lean..but with this gutted muffler with a supertrapp end on it im just banging my head against the concrete..3.5 out on the needles..guess ill be in the market for a slipon muffler 2 inch id for the 400...id buy brandons but shipping would kill me ..now to put some tyres on it..and the front brakes suck...those are disappointing ..thought they would be better..still looking for a cowling ..anybody?? red /white.anyway it revs easily to redline now and handles pretty well with the very dry rotted tyres..more things to clean up ..neat little bike...had a buyer for it but think ill keep it..gregginohio

well duh did a carb sync and carb 1 was way down cranked it up and idle seems lots better..first thing i shoulda done..ended up being the last thing to check.but since they came off a good running bike didnt figure it would be that off but different bikes different adjustments,,cross your fingers..litle bugger scoots and make alot of noise..gregginohio
