Need some assistance

In the states, this was the upgrade to the FZR600. In other places, this is called an FZR. Either way, many of the components of the US YZF600r fit onto the US FZR600.

Need some assistance

Post by coopfzr »

I recently bought a 94 YZF600r in decent condition. needed fuel pump (as usual) battery maybe a vale adjustment and new gas cap since the previous owner didnt have the key and drilled it out and new fairings. it has K&N air filter, Jet Kit (unknown brand) and yoshi exhaust. when i finally got it running it had an air leak to the carbs (loose boot). so my mech told me to do a carb synch, i figured no point in a synch without a proper valve adjustment. in the process i screwed up the timing and had to do it the regular way. since i also have a 91 fzr i figured the punch dots on the cams both went straight up at TDC. obviously wrong since i could only get about a quarter turn in either direction. after getting the timing just right the 4th cylinder wasnt firing. found that i forgot to check the valve clearance again before reassembly with a super tight valve.

What I need to know is that if my valve is bent will one from an fzr fit, since i have a whole motor, the yzf motor? im buying the tool to find out what it may be exactly on friday. the shop didn't have the adapter small enough to fit the CR9e

I would say no the valves should be different unless you can look up some p/n's and then see if there are the same for both valves good luck dude
