Gas tank swap

In the states, this was the upgrade to the FZR600. In other places, this is called an FZR. Either way, many of the components of the US YZF600r fit onto the US FZR600.

Gas tank swap

Post by rokitrick »

OK question... I want to put a 98 tank on a 96 foxeye. the foxeye has the fuel pump inside the tank and no petcock that shuts off, but it's got the switch for reserve monted on the bodywork
The 98 has what a separate fuel pump remote? so I need to add a pump? and the shutoff type petcock is accessible with the tank in place??

Yes, yes, and yes. It might be worth your time to find a 4JH tank, and sell the 4TV part.

the 96 had 18K miles and the tank and bodywork are pretty much pristine, so i'm selling that stuff off, already removed
i like the look of the red and black 98 tank, and getting airtech bodywork, and painting it black
Found a new fuel pump on ebay for $20 where the OEM is $200. not sure how that's possible....
