Its a miracle!

In the states, this was the upgrade to the FZR600. In other places, this is called an FZR. Either way, many of the components of the US YZF600r fit onto the US FZR600.

Its a miracle!

Post by Bike_junkie »

So I just got back from a 9 month deployment. I went to my storage unit to check up on things and see if the yzf I am going to use as a donor bike would start. It sat for 4 years before I got it late last year. It ran fine after running carb cleaner through the tank and charging the original battery. I expected the battery to be dead when I got back. But to my amazement after turning the gas on and reconnecting the battery it fired after maybe 10 seconds of cranking. It settled into a smooth idle and was able to go off the choke after a minute or 2. Overall I would say this bike has proven itself amazingly resilient.

I approve of this message for two reasons. You made it home safely from a tour of duty. And the bike was pleasing for you.

Chris.

Thanks, jumping on the bike and going to get a burger always really sets the idea that I am home again. I was really surprised with how few issues the bike has had after sitting for 4 years, then an additional 9 months. I would have atleast expected the 8 year old battery to be dead.

That's so awesome, are you sure someone wasn't watching over your bike? I think god especially loves Yamaha riders. Lol
