My FZR600R Foxeye Restoration

In the states, this was the upgrade to the FZR600. In other places, this is called an FZR. Either way, many of the components of the US YZF600r fit onto the US FZR600.

Latest news I have got myself a 13tooth front sprocket should make this years riding exciting not a massive fan of really high speeds so a rough top speed of120mph should still be plenty

I'd watch for any binding with a front sprocket that small

Wow never heard of that before is it a big problem with 520 chains and small sprockets (it's not that much smaller diameter than the 16 I have fitted at the mo)

The chain size has less to do with it than the circumference of sprocket. It will be a lot smaller once the chain is fitted and the tighter radius it has to turn around increases the chance of binding. Not that it's a common thing but it has been known to happen. Just suggesting that you be aware of that...that's all

Also be aware that a 13t will wear your chain a lot faster because of the tighter radius.

Update; this upgrade did not go well it seems that the backend is not designed to take this much torque and has self destructed have got to assess the damage but from what I can see it does not look good through the chain whist doing a power wheelie will post pics when I can but lesson learned!!!!

ok found the problem besides me of course :duh: i found that the torque had overcome the friction on the rear wheel spindle and for some reason there is an in correct chain adjuster on the chain side of the swinger from a 3HE bike the other side says 4JH on it the 3HE is smaller and has snapped and let the spindle move trowing the chain off which has smashed the casting over the small sprocket and snapped the clutch push pin (anyone know how to fish one out because its now inside the gearbox :swear still had no time to post pics but i will as soon as poss fantastic warning of how powerfull the chain is when let loose!!!!! :yikes:

Looks nasty.

As for the clutch push pin not sure really removing the clutch might be your only option unless you can find something magnetic to pull it out with, removing the oil seal might help too.

The spindle was the wrong way round too although I wouldn't have thought this would cause much of an issue (the axle nut is on the chain side).

Right thanks John I have done exactly what you said and got the pin out with magnetic pickup tool worked a treat going to make the new adjusters from steel so if it fails again it will fail safe!
