Kyle844's FZR600 build!

Post by Kyle844 »

This is my first post on this forum so I thought I'd do it right and start a build thread!
This is my 96' FZR600 CA model. It seems all stock besides lack of fairings and the Jardine RT-One slip-on.
Image
Got rid of the UGLY turn signals the PO had ziptied on, These will mount to the side fairings once I receive them.
Image
Got bored so I moved the tail light in about an inch and then modified the bottom to allow more light on my plate.
Image
Got my hands on some carbon fiber vinyl and started wrapping the bike

The wheels were ugly so I sent them off to paint, White basecoat with a metallic red topcoat, finished with some high strength clear.

I have a fighter front headlight assembly coming which include turn signals, Round bar end mirrors, and side fairings that will also be wrapped in the carbonfiber. I am really debating getting a carbonfiber slip on to finish the look but i don't know if i want to fork out the money for one when I have a perfectly fine can on right now. Let me know what you guys think!

Looks like it's coming together for you. The pro-taper bars should ease the pain on your back.

Looks good man, and perfect start to your posting, a build thread! i wonder if you can hit the CF vinyl with a coat of clear to make it shine up and protect it a bit. just a thought, probably need to research it so the paint wouldnt ruin the vinyl. otherwise, me likey!
I did that.

The vinyl wrap is 3M Carbon fiber Di-noc. A 2'x6' Sheet cost me 80 bucks but totally worth it. I'll have to order some more because my rear fairings came in today, They have already been trimmed down so now I will trim my brakelight housing to match. My bar end mirrors came in today also. They are just black circular ones. Will post pics tonight or tomorrow of the fairings mocked up and the mirrors on.

WIll put pics up today. I use my phone and have to put the sd card in the comp once I find my damn adapter! I think for now I'll use the stockers which will be hidden by the fighter headlight I've got coming but I was some threads about the vapor guage that was like $128. Seems pretty sweet and tiny.

Got the bar end mirrors put on and adjusted.

Put the turn signals on
Image
I'll trim down the brakelight housing to match the cut down fairings.
Image
Finished product until I receive some more carbon fiber and the street fighter front headlight assembly. It has front turn signals in it.

Can't really see the CF but in real life you can! My cell doesn't really get the detail in. waiting for more carbon fiber to get the side panels done. bought flush mount blinkers also because i don't like my new ones. also picked up a smoked lense for the helmet!

Did you have the raise the front end at all? It looks as if the bars would hit the top of the fork tubes.

It looks like he has bar risers that are mounted on to the upper triple, they look plenty high enough to allow for a regular suspension set up
