Hey, I want to change my guages. I know a lot of people go for the Vapor guages but I was thinking about this one http://www.xpostreetfighter.com/detail.aspx?ID=84

Anybody have this or know of the Goods, the bads, and the ugly of this guage?

You have to be careful. There is the Vapor gauge and there is the Veypor gauge. Two VERY different gauges. The Koso's are nice and there was someone on here that put one on their bike, but you can get an R6/R1 gauge for a lot less and have the features you're actually going to use.

The R6/1 gauge seems like a pain to install. After careful deliberation (about 5 mins, lol) I think I'm gonna order the KOSS GP style RX-1N (Black face). I hope nobody has had any issues with this guage. Speak now or forever let me be screwed :P

lol, but the KOSO looks like the least pain. I ordered it today so I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll try to take lots of pics so if anybody else wants to do it they'll have a bit of a referance.

So the shop I ordered the RX-1N from called me back and said it was back ordered. So I'm getting the RX-2. Should have it by mid next week. I will be posting the install pics and finish product on the thread of my build.

looks pretty cool, but i'd make sure you can delete the "top speed record" or you'll just be making dibble's job a whole lot easier, he wont even have to catch you at it, just get you to turn it on and take a quick pic and your nicked !!!

No I think you will find the guage has amemory that holds its top speed and certain other details , hence the warning about keeping such things for bragging rights as the law could make use of it .
Your call

I know that it has a memory for top speed. But how many Cops do you think will walk up and be like, is that a KOSO RX-2? and then know that you have to press the select button 10 times to show the saved top speed???

furthermore, they would have to prove that it was the bike that went "said speed", and not just the unit, and who exactly was operating the motorvehicle at the time of the "said speed"

You guys must be smoking dope cause that's paranoia at it's finest.

paranoid maybe, fine & endorsement free definitely, I know a couple of "Black Rats " who race and their knowledge of bike technology is sometimes sharper than mine (I have run questions passed them & they knew) so thinking they are "coffee & doughnut retards" is perhaps chancy at best.

If you end up in court the judge will never likely believe any " Biker" what the cop says is "the truth" how much money do you wanna go about spending to prove the Cop wrong

We are all responsible for our own actions.......................
