so here is a proper introduction my name is kevin. I have a fzr 600 that i picked up last september for 100 bucks. it hadnt run in years the guy said. so with some tlc and ebay parts and the help of the archives i got it running . had it running for a month and then one night when on the highway i hit some gravel on a turn and down i went. so with that i decided to go with a naked/fighter look.
my plans are
1.r6 tail and undertail-----changed to r1 tail
2.r6 front bakes and vr (maybe)
3.vapor guage
4.new rubber front and back-------r6 swinger
5.total rebuild of carbs and engine overhaul
6.new paint of course
so it began today with me stripping the bike
illl get some pics when i figure out how to upload from my computer???

WAIT I THINK I DID IT

Double edged question here. There are no upgrades for the tranny. But Mega is correct, you don't have to do anything to it. But if you are going to have the engine apart, look over the gears to make sure they are within spec. The only thing you can do to the tranny is have the gears undercut. Granted you want to be gentil with it if you add more power.

The one weakness of FZR - the tranny. Luckily it doesn't cost a ton to replace the shift forks and the shift drum which are some of the main causes of second gear shift problems.

so the work has screeched to a halt due to some the weather and parts and tool issues. the paint gun i bought on 4/7 still has not arrived so i cant paint the frame and get stuff put back together. but on the bright side got an 07 r1 tail on ebay for 20 bucks

ill post some pics once i get something done

You should try to fix your fairing stay bracket before you paint, it looks pretty fooked.
