sorry to say yesterday did not get much done... got 3 other builds going on right now in the shop so i have to put mine own on the back burner for customers rides. did get the new over flow done, it is a paint ball gun CO2 can, i had powdered years ago when i used to play, now i do not, so i stuck it in the press and drilled out the center, then i drilled out the side. my plan is to run the over flow tube out the hole in the side, though the frame and down under the bike, the inlet tube will be plumbers glued in there opening and then be sleeved with braided line. this will give the effect of NOS, but not really there, ya dig?

ThatKid, sorry i did not call man, was crazy busy yesterday! we will try and hook up this week some time if htat is cool with you? we got so many boxes of parts in today, i have to inventory it all so we can get them back out to the customer, but after that i will be good to meet up

ha ha ha ya i got all the colors in last week, not sure what i am going to do with it, that is a version of chrome powder on it now, only after it is cleared if you do not use and accrilic clear it will dull it down. here is an example:
this is one version of our chrome powder
Image

same powder but cleared (ultra clear) *we now use a seperate gun to shoot an accrilic clear that is made for chromes and polished metals(and brass etc)
never the less, this tank had a ton of dents in it that i filled with lead, sanded out, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of chrome, and 1 coat clear... all this powder is thick! so you have to take in your PMT and cure times to make sure it is final cured right, after all was said and done, i wet sanded and polished it
here it is on the bike

ok guys... need some input... well more placement of color... i am thinking of shooting everything i have off the bike in the orange copper, lower legs, rims, swing arm, engine cases... everything... the whole lower part of the bike would be done in it, including the rear sets and trees... then doing gloss black (or bed liner) on the frame, doing a gloss black wheel stripe on the rims, black rotors, and then my carbon fiber paint...
not sure how that will look, but i think i could get away with leaving the motor silver then cause the black and silver from the carbon fiber air brush would would tie it in... i think...
the powder i am using requires a silver base coat, so anything that you think would look better in silver i can just not top coat it... what do you think? would be different with the full V of the frame done in a whole diff color

Tank and motor can be dropped in about 45 min if you know what you're doing. Tank comes out with two bolts and the motor drops with 4. Various wires and such but not that complicated. You might as well do it. :hyprocrite

Make it nice and shiny.

Also, I should be around tomorrow till about 5 pm and then I'm off to a work party. Or Sunday I'll be home around 6 pm. Or Monday I'm around all day. So just shoot me a call or text or PM and we should be able to get something going.

ok man ill try to hit you up tomorrow, we finished my buddies snowpro last night and are completely trail ready now, so i think we are going to hitch up the sleds and go snowmobiling... the trails are completely open where i can get from huntly, all the way to the wisconsin trail system! rocks!

well here she is, got to take wifey out, so have to call it quits till i get back late night... here are the pics

I also wired a HID spotter light on my buddies race sled, we are going out riding all day tomorrow, ill take some pics to show you, this sucker is bad!!!

and... this morning my buddy JoeyCocks came by from 1/2 fast chicago. He is building an appartment bike, gutted motor, all cleaned up nice, piece of art to keep in your house... going to be sick, our company is actually going to use it to bring to shows as well... but today we slammed it!
here is the link to his build

and what we did this morning to it:

No pictures of the shock disection but it pretty much went the same. Cut 2 coils out of the rear shocks to try and match the front. Not
an exact science but the bike is looking pretty flat in it's current mockup (see below):

figured since we have been doing a step by step on the build.. why not the powder work as well

started on the wheels today... first removed the bearings an dust caps then started stripping

Dunk in chemical strip tank to remove paint and then wash with our own solution to neutralize and clean

next up... blasting!

step 2
90 min at 450 part metal temp to open pores and release contaminates that would ruin powder during curing

Step 3
after the part has been outgassed we Then blast with our custom inhouse media blend that provides maximum powder adhesion and deep clean of metal.

freshly blasted:

Pity about the blasting losing the polished lips of the rim.

wait till you see the color on them! will completely make up for any polished surfaces... the PO did not even prep it before he spary painted it, you would be amazed at what we find under painted surfaces sometimes!
1st coat is curing as we speak... the powder req a metalic silver base coat... going to be sick!

how about an update! The wheels base coat is done. we have developed a technique for wheels that involves cross linking two coats of the final color. This allows for all the advantages of two coat film thickness without any of the orange peel or other imperfections typical of two coats. Coverage is 100% even, zero thin spots in nooks and crevices, which greatly enhances both appearance and durability, and also smoothes out and hides cast finishes completely.
Basicly this gets rid of all the ugly casting marks and leaves the finish perfectly smooth without any imperfections
Image

since there is alot to be shot on this bike... we are curing a tester bottle right now with the top coat, this will allow us to check our mil thickness and get that set before shooting wheels. This will ensure that they are perfect! this will also make when we do the rest of the parts for the bike a bit faster cause we will know what to shoot it all at! final pics next!!!
