trifgeorge wrote:About bleeding the brakes. Keep the brake lever pulled in and unscrew the bolt that connects the brakelines to the brake reservoir. Do this a couple of times with pumping between and you will get pressure very fast. The air get's stuck there and it gets out of there pretty hard. That's what i did to mine when the same problem occured.
GUYS,
I know I tend to bang on about this BUT the reserviour bolt should be bought with a bleed nipple in it.

Think about the banjo on the master cyl is the highest bloody point bubbles in the oil float to the top have a bleed thereis the perfect place.

Take a look at mine on the saltmine fzr section you will see how much it makes sense

ok... so since i am still waiting on a gasket i figured i would get as much done as i can! so i did... only to find, i have a bit more work ahead of me. I got the lights hooked up all the wiring done... well kind of. the tail light worked great! i had to open up and re solder the front brake light switch, bt that sucker works now... I added in my turn sigs, using some of my 10mm hyper bright LED pods, with wired in resisters.. and here is where the problem comes in...

the prev owner must have fiddled with the wires, when you turn on the left turn, works great! but the right, all 4 turn sigs flash... no big deal just got to get a wire diagram from somewhere and fix it.

everything else works great! when i click the run button i can hear the fuel pump prime, driving and brights... the whole shabang!

got the header on (new exhaust gaskets), as well as the muffler on the bike, fresh oil change, mirrors on, grips on, stator put together and on, fuel tank in, and some other odds and ends!

here are some pictures!

tail light (turn sigs on the the lower section of the liscnse plate bracket... yes they are small but MAN are they bright!!!

NEW GASKET IS IN!!!!! nice... i was told the headbolts need to be torqued to 7lbs... ill get the new plugs in, get that torqued down, fluids in... and START THIS SUCKER!!!!!

does anyone have a recomendation on fluids? i know they do not make 20w40 anymore, so i got to rock 20w50
i am thinking 3 qts of lucas will do it... any feedback on this? i use that in my harley and have never had any issues... figured i would ask!

well.... HIT THE TON! ha ha ha man this sucker is fast! i put a96 ninja 600 gasket in the exhaust, by some amazing luck it worked!!! 3 of the 4 stock gaskets where in great shape, one was completely gone, can not belive that i did not check that first... turns out they sold me the wrong oil filter, so put a new one on and topped off the fluids, no more oil leak, pulled off the cooling piping and popped on new o rings, then new bolts, no more coolant leak, got the over flow on and plumbed, looks wicked... then went riding... got the clutch adjusted... wrapped the cables, and did a fatty burn out... raced and smoked a Ninja... man this sucker is just a blast to ride... i thought that it was going to have kind of lousy handling with as much as it is slammed but not at all... the headlight seems to be a hit, at the gas station people got out of their cars to take pics! just a cool feeling. again Gary at GHI signs came though on some killer decals! thank you as always!!! he makes all my decals and the quality of work is just awesome!!!

but i got about 85 miles on her now, runs great, stops great... so much fun!!!

*left to do:
- wire in LED kit
- wire in rear turn signals
- put on fork covers
- put on the other bar end mirror
- install stearing damper

ill get a riding vid up a bit later tonight... i have to work all day. but here are some pics from this morning... i wish you could see this in person, this powder is so BLING it is mind blowing!!!, wait till you see how many hyper orange LED's i have planned for her...

00000h ya! the lightin on the headlight sucks huge balls, i am going to add some driving fog lights to the bike hooked to the brights so i can get a bit more light at night, NO I AM NOT CHANING THE HEADLIGHT :)

more pics... still have more to do before show and shine but... it is getting there! also had a great idea for the stand... made it work! had to make a bracket and get some hardened bolts, round htem off on a grinder... but got it to work out just fine! I also think i am going to drill out the top tree and go with a flat tracker bar, get rid of the clip ons

2 things:

1: I would suggest maybe doing some Plasti-Dip on the stand adapters otherwise you're gonna end up messin up that swinger.
2: Yamaha Seca II top clamp is a direct bolt on and will allow for bars

Great build, love the colors(it was my school colors) just wondered if you ment to have the end cap of the exhaust the way you do, just looks different with it upsidedown, for what its worth. But sweet looking bike!

HID ROCKS!!!!!
i ordered 2 so that i can run duel HID but they are so bright there is no point, the other one is going into my wifes bobber. I wired them up so in the day i can run the stock light as the running headlight, then at night i can click on the brights and the HID will come on and the stock other bulb to brights... it is BRIGHT!!!! i love it!!!!
also put in a new air box with new boots and K&N really woke her up

brights on
