agodek's 91 600 fighter

Post by agodek »

Thought id post a few pics of the fzr ive been slowly working on. its a 91 fzr 600, chopped tail, custom undertail and painted taillight, secaII upper tripple with drag bars, chopped 'shorty' v&h exhaust, custom headlight mount with 2 4" rounds, stainless flask overflow bottle, dummy lights in tank cover, used stock speedo(not in pictures). back story: bought it last spring for $250 not running from a buddy, cleaned the entire fuel system and carbs, new battery and plugs and fresh oil and it fired right up. rode it for a few months then over the winter i did most of the modding. has an R6 vr, rebuilt front and rear calipers, flushed coolant system, new rubber front and back plus the other things previously mentioned. next thing is dirty bars and ss lines with R6 mc and blue dots and clean up and paint the engine covers. plus it has a stumble around 5k due to the shortened exhaust so ill have to sort that out. this is my first 'build' and couldnt have been done without the vast amount of info in this site. thanks to all.

also plate mount has been moved to undertail, apparently the swinger mount is not 'legal' in vt.

Not bad. I dig it. Are the risers reversed?

Nice work man, I like it as well. Loving the flask! Do you want to get rid of that plate mount? I'd be interested if you are.

looks awesome! i'm working on mine to have a similar look (as far as chopped tail and headlights go). speaking of headlights, can you post a pic of the front so i can see the headlights? what brand did you get, brackets, etc?

i've been looking at the dominator headlights with the little windscreen, but they're so damn expensive. it's hard to justify spending close to $300 on headlights :yikes:

Nicely done. I actually like the drag bar setup.

If you need SS lines let me know.

I've been contemplating drag bars; I've had some on the work bench for over a year.

I got the drag bars from a buddy for free, when i got the bike one of the clip-ons was bent, and it had no plastics not even the front upper, so fighter was pretty much my only option as a poor college student, and i found a few posts on here about the seca conversion. not sure about the reversed risers? i believe they are moulded with the tripple. I have recently done some cleaning up, de-gunked the engine, jb'ed the covers and sanded and painted, put the v&h badge back on the pipe, made a more secure headlight mount that is mounted by the ignition bolts, re-covered the seats. the headlights are high intensity driving lights found at any auto parts store, i know they;re not dot, but they are bright at sh*t. and one points down and the other way out, lows are one, and highs are both so it works. heres a pic, still trying to figure out a screen to cover some of that crap looking stuff up.
