thats the plan! I was going to ride to work today, but my wife actually got up and made me a bagel and coffee, and i didnt have time to eat and drink it before i left, so i took the truck today. because as you married guys know, once you say no, it may never happen again! kinda a bummer because it is supposed to rain this weekend.
I did that.

Well, the weekend was shortened a bit by the Celtics game 7. BIG WIN!!!!!! onto the second round! and a game tonight and wednesday.

so, i got a little done over the weekend, bondo and glaze, the glaze hasnt been sanded yet, but...

you cant really tell from the pictures, but the tail sits a bit crooked on the subframe, making the cowl not sit perfect, which bothers the hell out of me! i think it is due to the undertail, which i may have to cut a couple slots out of, and reglass, but that shouldnt be too hard now! since i wont be able to ride all week, or even possibly this weekend, i am working on trying to get the plastics cleaned up and ready to respray for the summer, then i will reskin them over the winter inside. more to come!
I did that.

I was joking :grinnod:

I am working on a way to use plastex. I might make a mold of the upper part of the r6 side pieces, using fiberglass, then lay plastex in the mold forming the gap piece

small update.

due to rainy weather, i have taken to finishing my tank so the bike can be all one color for one season at least! i smoothed out the bondo, and have it almost to where i want it. most of the other pictures dont show the curves of the cowl, due to it being dull, so i tried to show what it looks like a bit better.

Image

as you can see in the next picture, it sits a bit skewed off to the left, but actually the tail is crooked on the subframe, that is next on my list to fix.

Image

wetting it down before the pics helps to show what it actually looks like. I think i went a little crazy on the bondo, instead of just smooting it out, i covered almost the whole thing to cover the fiberglass. ended up sanding most of it back off. i think a bit of bondo to shape, and then the glazing putty will be better for next time.
I did that.
