There is a "top speed" led inside the speed meters, that blinks on sometimes. What is its purpose

It tells you you're going faster than the speed limit (in Japan).

No, really - that's all it does!

Seriously? So my bikes an import?

I think it comes up when i'm accelerating and quickly revving up.Like i could be going close to 100 on 3rd with much torque, but when on 4th and low rpm it is not coming up. So i conluded that it was something that tells you you're keeping revs high for a certain period...

Purely a speed scolding light.

No 250s were officially imported anywhere. Australia and the UK got a whack of semi-official grey imports; every other machine was imported by individuals or small businesses.

And what are the specifics to its activation? Reach a certain speed and bam its there, till you drop to lower speed

Imports have the original frame number struck out and the compliance plate has a new number. Check your compliance plate for something along the lines of "Complied by Sydney Motorcycle Wreckers"
