2nd gear slips back into neutral while riding

hey guys..
my fzr is giving some small problems... i take off in first, change to 2nd... riding in 2nd for a bit and suddenly the bike just goes back in neutral ??? has happened to me a couple of times now... is it just that im not slapping it into 2nd properly or is it an actual problem?

hi,
the FZR family is known for its week gear box and the slipping 2nd gear is well known.
I believe THATKID wrote up a fix for this or was it Darrin?
Do a search of the old posts there has been afair bit of discussion on this.

YG put a link to the thread a while ago (2009) in the WIKI under "Misc Bits and Bobs". It was "Yammyha" that made the post originally.

Course, us here in the US have no clue what "Bits and Bobs" are - maybe biscuits and gravy? ha! Now I just made myself hungry.

I have to sympathise with my "fellow colonials" that we both speak english but not the Queens version (or at least Y-Geo's version ) I thought it meant "wedding tackle" or "mutts nutts$ etc but apparently the translation is general " associated pieces " with what ever the subject matter is !
Yeh Right as the saying goes.
