Hello all, I bought an fzr 250 3ln two days ago and I now have it stripped to the frame, upon inspection of the engine I see that on the top end of the engine there are the charactrers. 1HX01y4. The plate further down has only 1HX stamped on. The frame on the headstock says 3ln but the back end on the engine (closest to the rear wheel says: 2KR02y2.
I have read the engines are interchangeable, the rest of the bike is 3ln but does this mean that half of the engine is from a 2kr?
Thanks in advance

Re: Engine numbers
That's a little puzzling; the parts manual I have shows the engine stamp being "1HX", not 2KR.
It's entirely possible you have a 3LN that blew its engine and was rebuilt, in whole or in part, using 2KR pieces. Is the oil filter a spin-on type behind the sidestand, or an internal type under the engine and tucked in above the exhaust?
