So i was riding back from supper with some buddy's and noticed my headlights where not working so i pulled over and looked the bulbs are still good(2 weeks old). I did get them to come on once and then they went out again neither high nor low work, any idea's on where to look?

play with the start button
if it contacts inside it will turn off the lights
you can replace the switch or cut that circuit(only do that if you know the bike charges and has a decent battery!)
if thats not it...........make sure the fuse is alright? do the gauges go out too?

Wait, so which two wires need to be cut and soldered together? The red and blue/white soldered together? What exactly does this connecting the wires do? And is this all in the start switch? I'm just about to do it since my headlights are completely out... but I'd just like to understand the reason for this. Thanks!

Dont cut and splice any wires there. The the start button apart and make sure those contacts are all cleaned up and that it springs back to its outward most position when you put it back together. and you should be good to go.
