Right-angle battery post thingies

Post by tommyj27 »

When I replaced my battery a while back I forgot to remove the right angle terminal doodads that allow the cables to attach horizontally rather than vertically. I have been getting by with the cables attached horizontally but it's really obnoxious whenever I want to unhook the battery. Are these some sort of standard part that I can get at the stealership or an auto parts store, or are they FZR specific?

On my battery you can just flip the metal piece that goes on the battery itself

I want to help but I'm not 100% on what you're referring to on this

If you can take a picture i can help you better

Here is my awesome sketch of the part I'm wishing I still had. I don't recall if it was bolted or screwed to the battery post, but I do know that the power cable screwed into the right angle thingy. Does this make any sense?

So your battery is connected like so?

That sucks, unhooking the battery was 10 times (exactly :)) easier with those. I imagine they could probably be fabricated w/o too much trouble.

Guys,
a heavy duty bit of alloy will do the trick (my trini bike has them so no photo) but they are a good 1/10 or 1/8 thick right angled bits the heavier the better for current flow, brass may be better if you can get it Nerd

That's what i'm looking for; I guess my original diagram wasn't terribly accurate, or I just didn't remember it quite right. Are your battery posts threaded so you can screw straight down, or is the "screw down" a removable doodad that bolts onto the battery post? I thought they were removable pieces on my old battery because I thought I had tightened them down at one point.

Yeah, if it's not too much trouble I'd appreciate it. Sounds like what I'm looking for. Or if you can find a pic online...like at bike bandit or someplace i can buy a set *wink wink*
