Keep the Turn Signals On

Sorry if this is a thread elsewhere... I couldn't find it.
On my '98 FZR600 the rear turn signals stay on while the bike is on. There is no problem there, they blink when I hit the turn signal on the handle bar.
In fact, this adds another bright-shiny thing to keep other vehicles from hitting me, which is why I'm curious if it's possible to wire the front signals to do the same?
Heck, I'm not even sure why the rears would be wired differently than the front in the first place...
Any help?

Check your bulbs in the front. They should have a dual filament in them to work as parking lights (dim) and turn signals (bright).
When some people install aftermarket ones, they usually screw up the connections and leave the bright ones on, as parking lights, to melt their aftermarket turn signal housing.

Your front ones should be factory wired that way and the rear ones are factory wired to only act as turn signals. I swaped in some front sockets into my rear housings so the rear ones acted like the factory front ones. thats wierd yours working that way.

It might have been a popular MOD at one time to tap into the rear tailight for power, but the stock FZR600 only had 2 wires, for the rear turn signals, while the front signals have 3.

So I'm looking at this thing now and I was switched up. The fronts stay on (and have 3 wires and a dual fillament bulb), and the rears function only as turn signals (with a 2 wires and a single bulb).
I don't care about parking lights enough to rewire the ass end of the bike, but I really hate worrying about that tiny little tail light being the only thing between my ass and the car behind me's front bumper.
Genesis - how did you wire in the dual lamp sockets?

I can only assume that he used the front stalks or the guts of the front turn signals and wired the parking light lead to the rear brake light housing's blue wire.

correct
I just found a mod that uses some electronics to make a two wire setup into a three wire setup with some Rectifier Diodes and resistors.

Sweet. Looks simple enough.
So...anyone got a spare front flasher assembly?
The OEM part runs for $45 a piece.
I'll just have to find a parts bike to pray upon.

Genesis,
By all means update the WIKI , go to the how-to's at the bottom of the TECH Book & URL page, select the turn-sig how to and the page pops up. there is a tab that says edit this page and away you go.
If you get stuck you can PM me but not after the 8th as i will be travelling a lot until the 24th
Be sure to add a Headline that you have edited the original & on what date and that you did it. As you notice on the page itself I gave the Guy who wrote the original his due and that I edited it keeps it all fairly legal that way LoL
Look forward to seeing your extra work & case no else says it thanks for your Input.
