If you're running a full-on race bike, you may want to give serious consideration to an Ignitech programmable TCI - the SR3 is the high-speed / low drag version, ~ 210 Euros shipped. Give you a lot more control than a stock black box and a slotted pick-up coil / FP advancer key.
I was under impression ignitech is multi spark but cant advance timing because it relies on black box signal to initiate spark then refires as a pulse.
I just cant see how that is advancing timing instead of just improving bang by better maintained spark.
We have a rule that goes like this.
major components must be stock(Eg carbs)or have been used on your model prior to and including 1989 or faithfull replica.
So vance and hynds allowed.Ignitech possibly not allowed.
Head work allowed using stock head.Porting ,cams , and skimming ok etc.
Boring existing jugs and resleaving ok.1070 wiseco ok etc
Replacing jugs with mega kits not allowed
Pre 89 class ...
Fuel restrictions are four stroke limited to pump gas.Aviation fuel is avalible from sellected service stations and airport pumps if you have race licence.
Cant be added to vehicle driven into service station but fuel cans or vehicle on trailer(unregistered, not road legal)is ok.
Two stroke restricted to 98octaine max,Super petrol that we put in cars etc.
Your race gas is not avalible from pumps here.
Pre 82 rules same but methonol allowed as well for 4 strokes.
Aviation fuel has the slowest burn time, runs cooler but more grunt.Problem is the higher the octaine the more advanced your vehicle needs to be to get this advantage.Low compression engines do not respond to high octaine.Eg my Bonneville is 9.3 to 1(approx) and runs best on 91pump gas.
The 30% aviation and 70% 96octaine is 1hp better than 96 octaine on my bike.
50/50 mix is same as pump gas 100%
Higher percentages get me even lower horsepower. This is because of none adjustable ignition timing.2degree advance would let me run 50/50 and maybe gain 1 more horsepower.
The 600 fzr has plate and loator kits avaliable.
The penilty for fitting a major component that was not avaliable(time period)is loss of all championship points.
Rulling is it is up to the rider to provide proof that the modification was avalible
All electrical components including harness is classed major component.
Any part that can be plugged into jacks and time period allowed.
Anything that requires altered harness jacks is no allowed.
You can remove wires and jacks from the harness but you cant add
Stripping the harness is alowed.Replicating the harness in race form is allowed.Differnt style jack additions is not.Eg powercomanderIII no go(example only)
Cheers Steve
The 1000 has no adjustments due to generator crank pick up system.
