Electrical gremlin...

Post by maverick »

Well I'm having an issue here that for the moment is eluding me... hoping one of yous guys can help. The other day my bike didn't start. starter button tested fine, relay and starter work, so I think it's a safety switch. My clutch safety switch is not hooked up, so it's not that. My kickstand safety switch is also not connected so I know it isn't that. I haven't tested the neutral safety switch but I don't think it's that. I wanted to check the engine cut off relay but my manual gave me bad info on which wires to test. None of them were the colors they were supposed to be... oh and my cut off switch still kills the engine so I know it's good. for the mean time I bypassed the shut off relay so the starter button turns the starter even if the key is out :duh: but it won't start unless the key is in. any input is welcome.

What year and model????
Sounds like a defective neutral wire, can you short the neutral wire to earth/frame and then start?
Is this circuit any better
