Mszilves and I are trying to get more info up on the wiki for this swap. I just have trouble using the WIKI. Not real comfortable with it yet. Need more time on it.

im checking out some smaller front fairing options, including some aztec duals and a modded buell flyscreen and a smaller gauge cluster might be needed and the R ones might do the trick

im a bit worried about that whole cut into the case thing though too

and the cost

the aztecs are 200 something and the gauges aint cheap either!

also if you can provide anymore info about that hole you had to drill, how you kept it from filling the tranny with metal etc that would be useful :)

edit:

man, the more I look at it the more I need to buy and the cost goes UP UP UP!

how did you spend rougly(if you dont mind saying) on that setup!

Its an FJ sensor. Mark is working on the converter box for the R6 but if you get the R1 you should be good to go.

95,
on the wiring diagram in the WIKI the various "boxes" have titles but as pointed out unless you have done this it is not clear if they are add ons (there should be a note where add ons come from eg URL's ) what are on an R^ /R1 fjr etc what is bog standard FZR ant bits supplied by a board member etc.

I have followed this mod from the start and contributed cct's & links but not having looked at it for months I am still a bit adrift so God help a non -tech.

Thanks for your help in this by the way it can be feel like you are not appreciated sometimes for the amount of work you put in, some of us do realise this and say thank God someone else is a nuts as I am

No problem. Well Mszilves came up with the diagram. Its pretty simple. The fjr speed sensor was used on his but I used the R6 and had to space it out some with a washer. The relay is your standard automotive relay from autozone and the wiring is what it is. Most of the details and questions are on the main thread on the archives. I might just bring them over here to make it easier for all of us.

I used the FJR sensor too, but am still spacing it a little otherwise it touches the gear, the speed healer is required to correct the speedometer. As for the relay with out it the oil sensor will stay on even when the bike is off and will drain your battery. so the relay swithes the oil sensor off when the bike is not on. the white box is the for the Tach, it converts the analog tach signal to a digital signal. A 1ohm resistor is required to ground the gas level signal and turn off the light, if you don't have a yzf tank conversion.

I think I have $130 into the dash, another $200 for the various "add ons" and wiring harness, I also used the harness to update my VR plug, and my taillights and headlights, and for the r6 tail and battery update.
