For those out there who have done this mod: have you discovered any quirks over time? I had one of our guys on the YZF forum build the pulse divider for the tach signal for my mod. I assumed the FZR & YZF were almost identical so I went with the schematic I found on this site. It didn't work. It made my bike run terrible. It wouldn't run over 4K rpms, was back firing & shooting flames out of the can. I removed the pulse divider from the electrical system & all was well, or so I thought for a while. The tach seemed to be functioning properly until one day, while riding with some friends, I was really gettin' on it & hit the rev limiter. I've never done that & thought it was a little soon in the powerband but just dismissed it. It's been happening more frequently lately due to me riding more aggressively & it happens exactly at what the tach says is 8K. The idle reads 1500 & is supposed to be around 1200, so by the time the motor reaches 13K the tach is reading 8K. It's a progressive error that is compounded throughout the rpm range. Is there anyone out there than can make that type of pulse divider?
