Swignarm swaps and grinding

OK so as with any of the swingarm swaps, some grinding is involved. How exactly of some of you guys who have done swaps gone about the grinding? Did you use a grinding machine or how else do you make sure you have a perfectly flat surface for the swingarm to move against.

Angle grinder, tape measure, a machinists square(90* piece of steel), patience, and a steady hand. Some guys will make jigs, or various fabbed measuring devices to help.

perfectly flat surface? i just got it as close as i could the bearings, piviot tube, and pivot bolt keep the rear from wondering as long as the swing arm doesent move side to side on the pivot bolt you should be fine mine is. i just kep test fitting the swing arm to see the high spots
