I have some questions about the set up.

Might want to talk to ModKing. He's makes a conversion kit for the FZR if I remember correctly.

The question is not about the bracket, it is about the master / line / slave. I don't think my slave cylinder is working correctly. I have all three parts from a Duacati which is what most if not all "converters" use.

Did you add the ball bearing spacers?

Here's my problem.

As assembled, (not installed, just assembled on the workbench) the clutch lever is impossible to pull more than 1/4 - 1/2 inch. The piston in the slave cylinder does not move when doing this. The lever does moves when I open the bleed valve on the slave cylinder and fluid (no bubbles) comes out. Next, the piston in the slave cylinder does not seem to be retracted. I can push it in about 1/4 - 3/8 inch, but it just comes back out when I let go. If I push it in and clamp it, then the handle on the clutch master pulls normally and with little effort. It moves the piston in the slave cylinder outward as I can see my clamp getting flexed by the exerted pressure. If I remove the clamp, the piston comes back out and the lever on the master cylinder is impossible to pull again.

I had one answer that said when I put the slave cylinder on the bike, the clutch pushrod will push the slave cylinder piston back, and everything will be fine. The problem I have with this is that it takes quite a bit of effort to push the piston back. I think the piston would not retract but rather push in the pushrod.

What is your experience / observation of this?

It sounds like something is blocking where it shouldn't. It's almost like the line is vacuum sealed. I would pull the master apart and make sure everything is sliding freely. The PO may have left the fluid in there for a long period and it's blocking the normal flow. The duc slaves are non rebuildable so hopefully the problem is in the mc.

Mine worked fine when I first installed it as I installed then bled the line. I removed it to mess with the sprocket but did not release pressure from the line. When I went toput it back on, I noticed I could not depress the cylinder on the slave to seat it properly onto the clutch rod. I have not tried this yet, but I suspect the pressure has something to do with it. Basically, remove the line from it then install the kit and re-bleed the line. See if that helps.

First, I'll try this. I just made this up but it's all I have to go by knowing what little I know. If it does not work I will take it apart, reassemble, and re-bleed.

Push in the slave piston.
Pull and hold clutch lever.
Open bleed valve.
Push piston back in as far as possible.
Close bleed valve.
Release clutch lever.

bleeding the line at the bottom end will not work AIR travells upwards in the fluid, so you need to bleed the top end .

One of the most common faults of DIY clutch hydraulics is to mount the lower bleed screw off the vetical line so it never can be bled properly.

The clutch slave is mounted with the bleed screw at the top - just like you have pictured. I am referring more to the fact that if you remove the line, you can then push the piston back into place to mount the slave properly. Right now, I have too much pressure built up in the line to be able to push the piston back which is hindering the re-installation.
