YZF600 or R6?

The YZF600 is the same for all years. There have been a few R6 swingarm swaps done, but I don't recall a write up for the specific year you are reffering to into a 600 frame. Take a look at 95FZR600's write up for the '99-'02 swingarm. BMiller is working on a '05 swingarm right now but it is going into a 400 frame. However, we did find out that the two swingarms have the same pivot width so the process should be very similar.

i have no clue how to tell if this is a r6 or YZF

That's an R6 swinger. Click here. From what i remember they are the same at the pivot point.

The pivot area is 10". I did the 99-02 R6 swing arm swap. Its pivot area is also about 10". You will be dealing with exactly the same as me. I have a thread on it. If you have any questions let me know.

1. it is aluminium?

looks great, ride feels better or pretty much the same... i know the thin back tire i got feels scetchy at times...

Just grinding. Not a bad swap to complete. You can do it in a couple days if you had all the parts and stayed on it all day. You will need a shock mount, let me know I can make it for you.

im headed to alaska next month to fish for 3 months, when i get back im going to do a COMPLETE 2005 swap... in september ill be back to do a complete 05 r6 swap..right now im just collecting parts....

Not really. Its almost the same dimensions between the 99-02 and the 03-05 R6. Same amount of grinding and parts.

i dont like the 03-05 r6 swingarm on the fzr, i do like the 99-02 on there or the yzf600r one, zx7r looks good also.
