Im trying to find a digital speedometer that requires no drilling of crankcase.
GPS has a much more accurate reading as well, and wont require a converter.

I saw a Koso RX-1n that looks like the 04-06 r1 speedo, but its almost $400...
anyone know of a cheaper digital speedo that runs off GPS or magnet?
I know I saw someone on here with a viper or vapor speedo.

The Vapor and the Veypor run off a magnetic pickup.

While GPS would be cool it's not cost effective. And those living in mountainous terrain may find themselves without a speedo in certain areas. I may be putting a GPS unit on my new build but that's only because I have one lying around that is small and not being used for anything.

Plus, you are inviting theft. A good hand held or running GPS is going to cost around 200+ Finding one for a bike that has a bigger display and other features is going to be higher.

and I would like the RPM's to be acurate.
my r6 gauge is WAY off, the range is 1K-4K rpms

and its gotta fit in my r1 front

How about a bicycle speedo? They run off magnets and are programmable for many different tire diameters.

I got a bicycle speedo allready..it tops out at 40mph...I need something a bit higher...

You just need a better one. Most will top out at 99 or 100. I got one for the scopper for 20 shipped from http://www.chainlove.com You just have to wait for a deal on one.

The Sigma BC1606 bicycle computer reads to 199.5mph.

It is also wireless from sensor to head unit.

My chopper buddy wears his on his wrist so he doesn't clutter his bike up. Of course his hands are just below eye level and it makes it easy to read for him. We stuffed one of the allen bolt heads holding his rear sprocket on and the sensor on the swingarm next to it.

Shred, that site updates often. It sells one item at a time. When one sells out a new one is listed. That's why I said you have to be patient.

bonktown.com is the new chainlove. Chainlove now only stocks mountain bike gear. bonktown is where the roadie deals are at.

Shred- sounds like you bought a cheap cyclocomputer or mounted the magnet on the outer edge of the rim. Remember, the faster the magnet is moving past the sensor, the less chance it has to be sensed.

I had my cyclocomputer up to 54mph one day with the bike upside down and me spinning the cranks by hand. (cateye astrale 8)

mine was a $20 Bell wireless one I got from Wal-mart.

f**king roadies!!

Not an FZR, but it's an FZR front end...it was simple to mount up. Sensor mounts to the forks and rears off the a magnet placed on the brake rotor. $100 shipped and reads well beyond your bike's ability to move.
