R6 Ignition Swap help

Looking to keep the Ignition from the 99-02 R6 when doing the Fork swap. I have been tracing wires all evening.
Has anyone used a different ignition on their FZR that might be able to help?
R6 has 4 wires and the FZR has 3. The only difference I see for the 4th wire is it goes to a diode. The other 3 wires match up to each part.
Any help would be appreciated.

I got both diagrams out and it looks like of the 4 wires on the r6 and the 3 wires from the fzr ignition only 1 wire (r6) will not be used and really only goes to a diode having to do with theft control. So now, all I need is a key for my new ignition.
Does anyone know if I can go to the stealership with the 3 digit code and get the key that fits?

A good full service locksmith in your town should also be able to cut the key to code as well as the dealer. He/she will need year/model info and possible proof of ownership

Cool. I talked with a locksmith here in town and he told me to bring it in. Proof of ownership will be easy. Show him my ebay receipt.

That's what I did when I got the keys to my 1k made. I didn't even need proof of ownership. Cost me 35 bucks for the ignition and 25 for the seat lock, took him about an hour for each lock. Good luck with yours.

You shouldn't as the usually stock bike key blanks too. I didn't. I just brought him the ignition and the seat lock. He just asked me what bike it was from and he went from there. Your locksmith should be able to do the same.

The locksmith should be able to code all three of your locks for the same key...if that's something you'd like, ask about it.
I know I hate having multiple keys...I like just the one bike key on my fob, and a spare stitched into a deep jacket pocket.

Thanks! Im going to ask him about that. This guy has his business in the same building for the last 25 years. He's old and very good. Knows what he is talking about.

I know I'm resurrecting a very dead thread here, but which wires are used on the r6 ignition?
