I want to do in add on like the "inner fairing" for my front cowling.
so I cut up some cardboard and I came up with this idea

clearance

I like it, so im going to fiberglass it.
and I also moved my rear brake res. from under the seat if you didnt notice

ok, so Im also working on an inner fairing that will hide the space inbetween the fairing and the frame. and also, all the wires that run threw the front.
There is enough space for the forks to clear too. Thoughs old campain signs came into some good use :shocker
sorry for the crappy quality.

Thats a great idea! I would try it but I dont feel like repainting the whole front fairing.

im fiberglassing an ipod holder to my tank, so I have to paint that anyways. so while im getting that painted, might as well get some other things done as well.

Make sure you check your handle bars for turning clearance, before you glass your add on in.
it would suck if you did it and couldn't turn as suppose too.
My 1 cent, but nice idea!!

Just watch the clearances on your brake and clutch levers when you're turning. Mine hit on my r1 kit. Its not bad when you're used to it, just takes longer to do push around maneavers. Sometimes it can sneak up on ya though when you're backing up. Came close to dropping my bike once cuz of that. Anyway good luck.

and yea, I just went out riding...
I did a couple TINY power wheelies...since thats all my bike is capable of...
and I completly forgot that I left my "inner-fairing" tapped onto my bike. :yikes:
but luckly, it holds great...for some reason... :headscratch:
its held on by only electrical tape

Must be the picture? It does appear that the inner fairing is close to your front brake lever. But, you checked it so your good to go. Good luck and post after glass pics.

it is close, but it doesnt hit. the picture was taking with the bars turned all the way to the left.
there is a little more than a 1/2" gap. and I went riding with the thing on there and I didnt even notice it! (forgot to take it off)

The stock ones were either black or white, so you could just add those in black and not have to do anything to repaint your front end. my2cents
