Has anyone here done the 03-05 R6 tail swap using the R6 subframe as well? I am looking for some pictures to see how far off the R6 subframe is from mounting up to the FZR.
I am trying to get my hands on an R6 subframe to use as reference. I am hoping I can get a buddy at my work who is a welder to make me a copy in steel, but to match the FZR mounting points so it can be welded in place.
Thanks!

Well numerous people have done it on the 600 and 400 frame. Haven't seen many on the 1000 frame. You have a 1000 right? If so, they are totally different (ask me how I know ). 600's subframe is actually part of the frame where as the 1000 has a bolt on subframe. You might be able to get away with a few spacers and the r6 should bolt up. I have no way of verifying this though.

Re: Has anyone here......
Sorry, I should have mentioned I have a 600.
I saw one website awhile ago where the guy bolted an early R6 tail to his FZR frame and it looked really Mickey Mouse. I want to stay away from bolting it on.
I have a 03-05 R6 tail and an undertail to suit, so I am hoping to use that.

Might want to try welding some mounting blocks to the frame and have the tapped instead. That way you can just bolt the R6 subframe to it. Of course, to do anything you almost need to cut the FZR subframe off first. Freeze is using an R1 subframe on his. Send him a PM to get me info.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Shoot a PM to MrFreeze5 and also ThatKid. MrFreeze literally cut the complete FZR subframe off of his 92, made new mounts, and bolted an r1 subframe on it. ThatKid's bike has changed 3 times in the last few years and I think his subframe was made from scratch. Cad600 made a new subframe for his bike too. 95frz600 has done the R6 tail swap on his bike as well. All people i just mentioned are quite knowledgeable when it comes to this type swap and can probably provide lots of information.jeremy wrote:Anyone else?
