Thanks guys. Hopefully you will see it in a running fully finished (for now) state when you get here Billy.

I hope the new carbs will be here tomorrow - I hate the fact that USPS doesn't have real tracking like UPS or FedEx. That way I can tare them apart and get them soaking in cleaner by mid afternoon. I can then rinse them off and put them back together Tuesday afternoon and try to fire it up again.

Just like you Billy, I've had to make a list of what I need to finish. Good thing is that it is a short list. Bad part is that I caught a cold from my Daughter and my wrist still hurts like hell from the previous weekend. Hopefully those two things don't slow me down more than they already have.

There is a lever that goes into the switch housing. The choke cable attaches to that.

I haven't tried the horn yet, my problem is the turn lights. But I'm not sure if mine has something to do with the LED lights I have in it.

you might need a differnt relay for the turnsignals or some kind of transistor

Not sure if you've looked into or heard about this yet, but the Tridon EP37 Flasher Relay will flash at a constant rate regardless of the load that is placed on it. This relay cures that problem. The Tridon EP37 is, unfortunately, very difficult to find. The price is about $18.00 plus shipping.

There is a report that the Federal Mogul (Wagner Lighting Division) Electronic Flasher Relay #7216 is a direct replacement for Tridon's EP37 relay. Its ratings are 12VDC, 16 lamp, 2 terminal. It reportedly flashes more rapidly than the Tridon, 90 flashes per minute rather than about 60 for the Tridon. The first time only delay may also be a bit less. Its availability is also much greater. The Wagner relay is also listed as a NAPA Auto Parts part number NFL7216, $19.49.

Grote also offers a constant rate flasher, part number 44891, available at NAPA as well. This flasher, however, has an extra ground lead that must be spliced into the bike's wiring.

Hope this helps and doesn't make your research redundant Rob.

But is the stock FZR choke cable long enough?

Yep, the FZR cable is not long enough. But there is nothing saying you need to have that little choke lever in there or use it. Just run the stock choke cable in the stock location.

Re: My interpretation of a FZR - *FINIFSHED*

Well, I've had some major and minor set backs as well as some major and minor accomplishments with this project. I've got if finished (as much as I care to do this moment) and running (although it is ruff). But riding season is here and after 2 years, I want to ride. I put a YZF600 engine in it instead of the 660, the paint is a horrible rattle can job, and I still need to do something about the exhaust so it doesn't hide the wheel (of which I already have a simple idea). So here is it:

Here is a short video as well.

Like I said, it is a little rough, but I think it is rideable in a very short amount of time.

I really wish you could to an undertail.

those forks make a huge difference in the front view.

Has it been two years already? Well done. Doesn't sound it's running too rough though and it's probably just some minor kinks to be worked out anyway. I'm wondering where the CBR mirrors went and glad to see that airbox is getting use. Congrats Rob.
