Very cool! Great job!!!

I would adjust the shock if its a little stiff. I noticed mine was like that when I finished my swap and it was because of the shock.

Right now the shock is at the middle setting. I will move it over a couple clicks more till I get it like I want....

Now that the bike is raised a bit more. I ride all the way forward on the seat. You guys know of anyone that has taken the stock seat and maybe adde dmore cushion or anything to it?

I am going to keep them around for a little bit to make sure that this mod works and I wont need to go back to stock.

What I have is a 15/48 sprocket set and a DID gold chain. Everything is 530.....

Tomorrow I am picking up a rear tire hugger for 25 bucks. Im going to paint that white and clear coat it.

Would a YZF600 shock be any advantahe over a FZR shock? reason I ask is because I can get one for about 20 bucks.

My understanding is the YZF600 shock is too long. What you want is a '06+ R6 shock - fully adjustable, slightly softer spring (you did say yours was too stiff?). A few threads around here showing good mod directions.

yea the yzf600r shock wont work , or else i'd give u the one i have sitting around for nothing just shipping . from personal experience though i would man up and spend a couple hundred and get a fox twin clicker because all these other make/model shocks will need mod/fabbing to install and the end result wont really be what your looking for unless you change out the spring for a heavier one . I know people like the new ones because their adjustable but u can't change the ride hight with a fox shock u can do all the above but they do cost a pretty penny . way i look at it just put $50 bucks a week to the side and after a month or so you'll have enough to buy one and i think that you will be greatly pleased . either way your bike looks great and if your comfortable with it the way it is .. RIDE THAT THING AND DONT WORRY ABOUT IT

I was able to get the rear hugger / fender on. Got it for 25 bucks locally through craigslist ( cough cough ).....

Bike looks good. I put my new spark plug wires on for my ford coil conversion and topped off the coolant.

I also did a nice little summer mod for the Texas heat. I installed a pusher fan in the front of the radiator. Controlled by a switch at the left handle bar controls. Whenever I am stuck in traffic I will just switch that on so I can get some extra cooling help. The way I wired it controls both fans at the same time. But the stock one still comes on by itself via the coolant sensor just in case i forget to turn it on.

I will do an oil change and wrap it up for the spring riding season.

Once I get it all washed and waxed I will take a few pics......

As promised, here are some pics of the bike all washed and waxed, ready to go ride. I just left the tire hugger black. Painting it white would look goofy. I thnk the only thing I am going to do next is reupholster the seat with some blue boat type vynil. I will also add some more cushion to it.......Thanks for eveyones help.

I might go ahead and re paint the wheels this summer when I am off for a week from work.

I am also looking for the R6 shock. But other than that she is ready to ride....

Be careful with the rustoleum paint to paint the swingarm. I just found out that PJ1 chainlube is strong enough to want to pull up the paint.

Quick update......

Been over a year. All is good. Brake switch quit working but thats an easy fix. Mechanically the bike is great.
