That's pretty much how we roll around here...

Anyway, I took the "beast", as I now officially call it, for a ride and man, it feels like a streetfighter with the larger front and rear tire.

Smoked for a while after the seafoam bath she rec'd yesterday. I believe she is burning oil though. I won't be able to tell for sure, but I believe a valve seal job will be approaching soon.

The first trip I took around the subdivision was without a brake side foot peg - talk about wanting to ride. Leg was tired after that...

I then added the foot peg after some grinding and then took her down the road. Mind you I have no lights at all on her, so I didn't stray too far.

On my return trip, I pulled to a stop sign and gave her a little gas and the front came right up... almost effortlessly. I came back down and the clip-ons slipped and put themselves in an extremely dangerous position. I twisted them back as good as possible for the ride home, but I scared the snot out of myself. Thought I tightened them up good enough - apparently not.

The zip tie which was holding up the muffler must have melted off or snapped during the trip. You can see the muffler hanging a bit low. I used a lot of zip ties... it's the equivalent of duct tape to me.

Here she is in all her glory:

I also noticed that the steering was not right. I thought to myself that the FZR was so much better when rounding corners. It was almost too much work getting this thing to turn...

I should know by now to check the air pressure. It was at 15 lbs. :duh:

Turns a lot better now!

Now that I know it runs well, time to pull some items off, get them painted and then bolted with new bolts. This includes the swingarm, subframe and other bits.

RD,
You forgot to mention how hard it was to remove your helmet afterwards, the grin had to fade 4" to get the damned thing off ClapHands

Do you have the gixxer rim on it yet? Didn't look like it. What fairings are you putting on there?
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Since I have the YZF motor in here, I would have to make spacers, for the GSXR rim, to have it line up with the YZF600 motor, so the GSXR rim will go on my FZR600. Plus, I already had the YZF600 complete assembly ready. I do have the YZF600 rear hugger which will be a nice addtion.

It appears that I'll need to buy both the GSXR caliper and bracket for it to work, so that's on hold for the time being.

As far as the fairings and such. I will have the complete 400 fairings, but they will be stripped and probably just painted white with decals all over them for racing. I have a TZR250 fiberglass tail for the track. When I say racing, I mean "Track Days".

I actually want to make this a dual purpose bike. When it's not at the track, I want to make it a streetfighter, so the plans are to keep 2 triple top clamps with 2 different set-ups. PLUG and PLAY! Not sure what I'll do to the rear for the streetfighter look... I'd like to keep the dual seats since my kids can't ride with me on the other one with the Airtech tail.
