Question.....
Did you cut on both sides of the frame or just the left side? Is their an offset sprocket from a newer bike that can be used? I thought I saw some where that a ninja dront sprocket could be used?

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
there might be, i honestly have no idea what kind of sprocket i have, i just went to a junkyard and found one with the correct offset.

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
That is what Spyder did. He used the '03-06 ZX6R 520 sprocket. I'm doing the same thing, but I had to also reduce the rear sprocket carrier to make it work.95FZR600 wrote:Question.....

Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
Cad600 and CrazyIvan,
1st Cad600, are you using the 99-02 Swing arm? Your using the 520 636 Front Sprocket? What length chain do I need to get and the rear sprocket is an r6 520 rear sprocket? I think I might just order the 520 kit from the R6 99-02.
2nd CrazyIvan, pretty much same questions. The only cutting you did was on the frame? No where else? You used all R6 parts? What about the shock, if I was to use the original shock would I have to make a new bracket like you did? What about the foot pegs, everything there was good to go?
Im trying to order some parts and just making sure what I have to get.
Thanks all.

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
Well, remember I'm not using a R6 swingarm but a VFR SSWA. But the sprocket is from a '03-'06 ZX6R or RR or 636, all the same. You flip it around so the offset puts the teeth further out. The VFR swingarm is a good bit longer than the FZR but I was able to use a 120 link chain to start with. I think I removed 4 or 6 links from it.95FZR600 wrote:Cad600 and CrazyIvan,

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
hey man, yeah, i used all R6 parts, and the r6 shock and the stocker are the exact same length, one is just better, but you would have to make a bracket no matter what because the bottom shock linkage is different on the r6 swingarm. and yes, the only cutting that i did was on the frame, cut room for the swingarm to slide in, and then either a 20 or 21 mm drill bit to drill to make the pivot holes bigger to fit the r6 pivot rod in. for the footpegs they almmost fit, so i put a 1/4 spacer in there to push them out a bit. don't forget that you will need to space the shifter rod and the shifter cover if you do it the way i did.

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
Thanks for the help. Those were the only issues I had. Spacing out the shifter rod, the only way is to weld a little more metal to it right?
On the shock, if I were to use the r6 shock I will have to fab a top mount and bottom but if I keep the stocker only the bottom needs to be fabbed?

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
no, if you do the r6, shock you will only need to do the top, if you use the stock, then you will need to do both.

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
Can I go with a 190? Or do you suggest the 180?
Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap

Re: 2002 R6 Swingarm Swap
If you ask me a 180 would be better (as far as handling is concerned). But if a 190 comes along at good price doesn't hurt to try it.95FZR600 wrote:Can I go with a 190? Or do you suggest the 180?
