Uh, yeah Freeze. All 600s are 6-speeds. You may want to have a closer look at your tranny buddy! :o

that was always my belief. But my bike is not. Ive got 1 down 4 up. I dunno. :headscratch: It seems to work, so Im not going to complain. Theres no binding or grinding, it just stops, like trying to downshift from first gear. But the speed is pretty close to what it should be, but then again, the gearing is so close with the 14/47, at that range, one shift doesnt make a drastic difference in RPMs. Thats a problem for the winter. It was the same way before I installed the FP shift kit too, so I know that was not a factor. But I am going to replace my clutch this winter too, so Ill take a closer look then.

It's the truth. 6 speeds.
weird that yours doesn't have it. That would rive me nuts. Even with your sprocket combo, 5th to 6th wil drop your revs a decent amount.

A few new pics. I got the powdercoated bolts from TK and they look great. They look better than the alloy bolts and have more luster and I can actually torque them so I dont leak oil anymore. I also got the revised upper mount bolt for the crash rails and got them installed. The muffler mount is done and I have an appt for first thing fri morning to get my midpipe made. Finally. So long as the weather cooperates. My buddy's FZR is sleeping over while I clean the carbs and replace the boots and find out why its running poorly. I was suprised to see some of the differences when theyre parked next to each other.

No problems that couldnt be solved by a gentle massage from the hammer and a right angled screwdriver. Sometime soon, I want to get another one of those bolts. For the eventuality that something happens, namely a crash, Id like to be able to replace it without having to wait to have a new one made.

That one shouldn't break in a crash since it's a solid piece. Any force should be channeled through the rail and into the frame mount. But once I get back up and running I'll get on making bolts.

And that, folks, is what it's all about...

The bike looks great - I'd be proud to ride it!
