Re: new project
thanks, these older yamahas are cool, if you compare the chassis (minus front end ) they are closer to a true sport bike than anything being made for the street back in 1981, look at pics of a 1981 tz 250. I hope it will be a blast to ride, it cant weigh more than 180 lbs, I can very easily pick the bike up an carry it around. I also lucked out in that it was prev registered and tagged, my understanding is that if it had not been the new title would have been off road only, but like i said prev she is tagged and ready to go. As far as styling I have fallen in love with the look of the old gps with the fairings removed. so I hope it will look that way when finished. China find one and get started. I will post some new pics this week, hopefully will be starting paint prep.

Re: new project
She is finished, well except for some small electrical conections. It was a fun project, I gained some new insight about working with fiberglass, and it all came out prety well considering. Im not sure I will be jumping right in to doing another tank/fuel cell out of glass again, If I do I will make a mold for sure! free form fiberglassing is for the birds!!!! here are som pics.
