Re: My interpretation of a FZR - *FINISHED*

OK, so I couldn't stand having the exhaust pipe covering the rear wheel any more. So after some looking at different pipes I had settled on a couple of types that I thought would look clean on the bike. I don't like high mount pipes and I don't think and under tail exhaust will look good with the tail section I'm running. Well, one day I'm in my local dealership for some misc. parts and they have one of the pipes I'm thinking about using. So I ask if I can take it outside to see what it will look like. I get a sure go for it so I did. I loved it so I started looking for one used on fleebay as I was not about to spend $480 on a slip on exhaust. Finally found one for $150 brand new. Went this morning and got a mid pipe made for it which cost me about $60. Got it home and sanded, cleaned and polished the mid. Put it on to get some pictures. Here you go. It is a Scorpion exhaust for the '06+ R6. Now it doesn't cover the rear wheel.

You can see here how it was routed around the shock linkage and between the tire and rearset.

I still need to make a mounting bracket just to be sure it doesn't go anywhere, but I cranked it up to see what it would sound like. It it deep and loud compared to the Yoshi pipe that was on it. Here is a short video. I think I really need a jet kit for it now.

I'll get some more pics Friday.

Thanks Duane. I love it, but it was a little louder than I was expecting.

That is because no one wants the big long pipes any more. I can find them that size all day long too. I was not originally a fan of the shorty pipes, but this is a means to and ends which has grown on me big time. I've always thought it was a crime to hide the rear wheel. But yep, it does sound great. Really deep tone to it now.

I couldn't think of any exhaust that would look better on your bike. Honestly. You my friend have good taste.

Thanks guys. I'm loving it now. Haven't been able to ride with the new pipe yet and won't be able to until Friday. It does look a hell of a lot better with this pipe on it. No more long ass piece of metal for what seemed to be no reason. Now I just need to fix my crappy 5 minute rattle can job.

Bike looked pretty awesome before, looked even better in person, and now it just looks sick with the new pipe!

Good choice on the slipon!

Thanks Aaron. Took me a long time to imagine what it would look like with this pipe. I'm just glad it came out this good as it is tucked in between the wheel and rearset nicely. A lot of the R6 pipes tend to stick out too far in my opinion. But I tell you, I thought the Yoshi pipe I had on mine was way louder than yours is and this thing puts it to shame.
