Did a bit of modding on the ZED...56K Beware...

So some of you may have heard me mention the "other" bike out in the garage that keeps my FZR company a few times. It's a 2006 Kawasaki Z750S. The other half's father owns it. Anyway...he didn't like the factory rear fender that was with it but didn't want to buy an aftermarket fender kit. Well I finally talked him into making his own. So with a sheet of 16gauge steel from Lowes we set out to do it.
The factory fender removed:
Bike torn apart:
Design Process:
General Form Done:
Initial Test Fit:
More Mock Up:
On to priming and paint:
And it's Done!!:
With The New Plate Light On:
My FZR Just Chillin:
Our Dyna-Glo Pro Propane Heater. I strongly recommend one of these if your garage is not climate controlled. Gets the place nice and toasty really quick. It was 25 outside when i took this pic:
Here's another mod we did to the bike a while back. I scored another stock pipe on the Z750 forum for 80 bucks. Then proceeded to chop off all of the baffling (removed roughly 7 inches off it) the same day it arrived. Can't really tell the difference visually but the bike sounds really good with it on.
I'm sure someone is going to mention the rear tire. I've got a brand new set of Dunlop Roadsmarts waiting to get mounted.
Hope you enjoyed that..
