Please help me identify this shock!

Post by zero9243 »

TK and I were trying to identify my shock yesterday. We know it's not an ohlins because the res is pink and has grooves cut out for mounting. We're pretty sure it's not a progressive because all the pics we saw of progressive had no res. It is also not a fox twin clicker because TK has one on his new bike and they do not look the same. Here's a plethora of pics to help :-D

Can't judge a shock by its reservoir. I have a Fox Shock with a reservoir by the company that rebuilt it.

It is really hard to say what that is....

Are you sure? Does it help that it has only 6 different settings? (knob clicks 6 times). If it is WP is it any good?

Could it be a Wilbers shock? They make a decent line of adjustable shocks.

HM, i was reading on WP's site that they are known for their white springs. But i guess that doesn't really say much. They did make a few aftermarket shocks for the 400/600/1000....

Z,
If you send it to apro rebuild outfit they will be able to indentify it OR substite bits after examing whats worn and what they have in stock.

Fox used to have an agent in the west indies who could rebuild about any thing. we had euro bikes with shock names none of us had ever heard of but he fixed them even machined afox part for one of my 'Zuki air rearshocks that got bent (do not ask)

I need to find a place like that but idk who's legit around here. I'd really like to tear into it and rebuild it myself. I know the FTC has a manual for it, and modking has already done it, but if parts are gonna be impossible to get then idk. I emailed WP and am waiting for a response. Maybe a rebuild directly from them (if it is their shock) would be doable.

Cool man! Maybe I'd be a very rare FZR with a WP shock. We shall see!!

Sorry for spamming here, in the case that I do rebuild it, do you guys know if i can get SS lines for it? Where would I look? Are a certain brand SS lines better than anothers? How do you guys look for your lines?

Sorry to change the subject!!! You guys are great to help me with the shock identification!!
