My new FZR

Just picked her up . Mods are as follows.

brand new battery
brand new tires(140 60 18 on back,and 110 70 17 on front)
flush mount front and rear blinkers
cf mirrors
cf levers(clutch and brake)
dark smoke double bubble windscreen
used vance and hines ss2r slip on exhaust
fuel filter
pegs
new bar ends
new NGK iridium plugs
LED taillight
clutch cable
new 520 chain with new sprockets ( down 1 in front,and up 2 in back)


and yes I was riding the shit out of it today even in freezing rain conditions! im addicted alll over again.

Unfortunately, the only "MOD" on your bike is the rear tail. The other items were upgrades or replacement parts.

Now, if you own a GSXR and put a K&N filter in, then you've done a major mod because you picked up 20 horsepower and you learned how to use a ratchet.

In other words, we do real "MODs" here and we know the difference!

I do real "mods" myself and used that for lack of better term at the moment.

I also "know how to turn a ratchet" as a matter of fact I work in a shop, and just recently graduated UTI with an automotive/diesel degree.

Unfortunately what passes as Darrin said for Mods else where is no where the standard here. we all "tidy" our bikes with upgrades & replacements.

I know because when I bought my FZR I said I would change nothing that could be returned to stock by the next owner.

It certainly wasn't an attack on you, nitro. It is simply how we differentiate ourselves from other cycle sites. If anything, I am poking fun at the Gixxer community. They say MOD all the time when doing things like changing their brake pads and putting on flush turn signals.

MODs here usually include cutting, chopping, welding, sinking, etc... We have FZRs with single-sided swingarms, front forks from GSXRs, Ducati hydraulic clutches, and so on.

You forgot to mention the double bubble screen and the upgraded swingarm. Or the year.... 89. If it's not 89 then you might want to ask the previous owner why he put 89 forks on there.

I misworded that I meant it was freezing out size, Not litterally just cold, and it was raining a tad bit. You couldnt pay me to take a bike out in anything other than a light drizzle.

Don't worry. It's all fun and games. But it is funny how the different segments of motorcyclist classify what is and is not a mod. Darrin's correct about the Gixxer's though. It seems that bolting on a new windscreen or rearset constitutes a mod. The R6 crowd seems to be next. Then ZX6 folks after they wreck. I don't know were the 600RR people fit in as I don't here much about those. Where's Tommy?

We do have some 600rr'ers with single sided swingarms, not from another bike but i mean hand welded front to back. although but most mods are brembo calipers, steel lines, rear sets, wind screens, and a slip on, so yeah mainly 600rrers are just like the rest and alot of that is because the newer bikes just arent as friendly to work with as the old steel fzr's
